Playside Tackle- Easy Veer to Deucecom
Note: The Tackle always veers out unless there’s a 5-technique… if so, the Tackle releases inside. If the Playside Guard makes a “Deuecom” call, the Playside Tackle double teams the 2 or 3 technique with the Playside Guard.
Playside Guard- Base to Deucecom to Down
Note: The Playside Guard base blocks UNLESS there is a 2 or 3 technique… if so, he makes a “Deucecom” call and double teams the 2 or 3 technique while anticipating the A-gap runthrough… if so, the Playside Guard steps inside and picks up the A-gap runthrough.
If there is a 2i or 1, the Playside Guard blocks down on that defender.
Center- Base to Down
The Center Bases the 0-technique and if there is no 0-technique, the Center blocks the 1st backside defender
Backside Guard- Scoop #1
The Backside Guard Opens playside, runs, gets past #1, punches his inside hand through the outside breastplate of #1 and pounds his arches through the echo of the whistle. This is the catalyst assignment of the counter option.
Backside Tackle- Base
The Backside Tackle base blocks because the B-back is coming in between the Center and the Tackle.

The Big Idea in 171 Words
Here’s the problem. If you can’t block defensive linemen, you’ll never move the ball, you’ll never score points, and you’ll never win a game.
You need to understand why this disconnect occurs to overcome it and win.

“I know many coaches would rather install an offense the traditional way by researching it, visiting colleges that run the offense, and then picking coaches for information.
I have used that same strategy, and I know that it takes about three years to really gain an understanding of the offense and get players to execute it at a high level.
Consequently, in the research method, you do not have any collaboration with experts that are readily available when questions arise or resources that have consistency.
We wanted to give our players an offense that they could be successful with immediately.
We also concluded that by the time we visited colleges, bought DVDs, playbooks, and sent players to college camps to gain skills, we would have invested many times the cost of the camp.”
