“I just don’t think I have the Quarterback to Run the Triple Option”

I was talking to a high school football coach from the East Coast who said the following to me:
“Lou, I have never really run the Triple Option, but I WOULD take a look at it. I just don’t think I have the Quarterback to do it. Thanks” –Coach

Ok, let’s examine the best Triple Option Quarterback in the world right now–Navy Quarterback, Keenan Reynolds.
How many Division-1 scholarship offers did he have out of high school?
Does anybody know??????

NONE
He was going to walk on at either Vanderbilt or Middle Tennessee State when Navy said to him, “You can play Division-1 football for four years and then possibly get shipped out to the Middle East and fight for your country.”
He chose Navy.
Nobody else wanted him.
He supposedly couldn’t play ANYWHERE.
However, HE COULD PLAY AT NAVY–a school with ZERO athletic scholarship football players.
Why?
THEY RUN THE TRIPLE OPTION.
12 bowl games in 13 years–with ZERO athletic scholarship football players.
