10 Steps to Building a Winning Process with the Triple Option Offense

Coaches need to identify strategies that reinforce the process. The following is recommended for building a winning process with the Triple Option Offense.

Step 1: Get the right Quarterback. 

Find a 4.0 student who lives a responsible lifestyle.

Step 2: Be the model for the attitude you want. 

Extreme conviction toward all the physical techniques you teach.

Step 3: Create an inspirational vision. 

Build toward looking like Navy on Friday night.

Step 4: Give purpose and direction every day. 

Better footwork, angles, and ball security every day.

Step 5: Coach the complete player.

They maximize success in the running game and the passing game.

Step 6: Teach responsibility. 

Players must know when ONE fails we ALL fail.

Step 7: Encourage player leadership and peer group pressure. 

The top leaders physically model the educational communication they receive from their coaches.

Step 8: Deal with setbacks well. 

Fix. your. mistakes. now.

Step 9: Balance work with rest and recovery. 

Practices don’t need to be long.  They must involve utilizing techniques within specific situation.

Step 10: Build clubs within your position groups. 

The Offensive Line deserves their own group; however, so do the Receivers.
