A Case for Fearlessness for Triple Option Football Coaches

There are three points that demonstrate why the Triple Option Football Coach must be fearless:
1- A healthy dose of fearlessness fuels innovation and creativity.
For triple option football coaches, being aware of risks and potential problems is important, but that information can either fuel our innovation and creativity or stifle it. This is YOUR CHOICE. Thinking outside of the box is risky, but it’s what keeps us from becoming stagnant and irrelevant. So, a healthy dose of fearlessness is in fact essential when building a Triple Option Offense.
2- Knowing the Triple Option is elite catalyzes action and maintains momentum.
You didn’t get into the Triple Option Offense because we wanted to be average. We got into this offense because we have something awesome to offer our players. Somehow, through the everyday madness that is being a Triple Option Football Coach, it’s all too easy to forget our value, but how can we truly serve our players when we aren’t confident in all that we bring to the table? We can’t. How can we educate our players unless we believe in what we’re offering? We can’t. It’s crucial that we regain that confidence for our own sanity and for the benefit of our players.
3- Fight gives us all (including our players) something to believe in and fight for every day. That’s called purpose.
It’s easy to fall into the trap of focusing our time, energy and communication on what we do instead of how we help. After all, we work hard on our techniques and assignments and we want to talk about them, but it’s incredibly difficult for our team, and leads our players to be passionate about the techniques of what they are doing; however, it is much easier to be passionate about a common cause-something that our players can believe in and fight. We can make the decision to be passionate about the ways we help, the problems we solve, and how we transform our players’ techniques.
Embracing that fearlessness, knowledge, and fight again might be exactly what you need to breathe out and tackle your day, instead of waiting for it to blindside you. This might be what your Triple Option Football program requires to serve your players with tenacity, this is something for which to believe, and this is exactly for what your players are seeking in a Triple Option Football Coach.
