This diagram shows how to install the Midline Triple Option in 10 steps:

Midline Triple Option in 10 Steps 1.When there is a B-gap down lineman, Midline Triple Option is the B-Back read and pitch default.  The B-Gap down lineman is the read key.  #1 is the pitch key. They belong to the Quarterback.   2.	Playside Receiver blocks the Deep Defender. 3.	Playside Tackle veers inside to the Mike. 4.	Center Ace blocks the Action Key with the near Guard.  The other Guard has the near A-gap. 5.	Backside Tackle scoops the B-gap. 6.	Backside A-Back leaves on the snap and has the pitch. 7.	Backside Receiver cuts off the Backside Cornerback. 8.	Quarterback takes the snap, seats the ball, hops into the Playside A-gap as fast as possible, and points the ball. 9.	B-Back’s aiming point is through the Center and he will run straight ahead on his path. 10.	Playside A-Back twirls and arcs for the D-gap player.

7. Backside Receiver cuts off the Backside Cornerback.
8. Quarterback takes the snap, seats the ball, hops into the Playside A-gap as fast as possible, and points the ball.  He gives to the B UNLESS #1 tackles the B.  If so, the Quarterback, re-seats the ball, steps with his playside foot, replaces the B-gap defender and scores UNLESS #1 steps at him.  If so, the Quarterback parallel pitches the ball.
9. B-Back’s aiming point is through the Center and he will run straight ahead on his path.
10. Playside A-Back twirls and arcs for the D-gap player.

Triple Option Football Academy Owner, Dr. Lou Cella, is a Sports Performance Specialist, and a 19-year coaching veteran of the college and high school level.

Over the last four years, Dr. Cella assisted in the turnaround of numerous high school football programs through his triple option-based camp system. Just months after Dr. Cella served as camp director,Cashmere (WA) and Timmonsville (SC) went to the state semifinals, Bayfield (CO) went to the state championship game, and Falls City (TX) won their first regional and first state championship in school history.

In addition, Hereford (MD), Johnson (NJ), Lakewood (SC), Petaluma (CA), Piedra Vista (NM), Poland (ME), Riverwood (GA), San Benito (CA), Seminole County (GA), and Temple City (CA)posted drastic turnarounds just months after Dr. Cella served as their camp director.

Dr. Cella is currently conducting empirical research entitled “Utilizing the 80-20 Rule to Improve Football Coaching Performance.” He possesses four degrees with an A.S. in Education, a B.S. in English, a M.Ed in Information Technology, and a Psy.D in Psychology, Sport Performance Psychology (2014).
