Base- Inside, on, onside, or first linebacker head up to inside tackle box.
Veer- 1. As a blocking scheme, it’s Playside Linebacker. 2. As a blocking technique, it’s step, dip, and rip.
Scoop- A backside scheme allowing for the cutback. Backside Offensive Linemen scoop the area from the hand in their stance to the hand of the next man towards the play.
Deuce- Playside blocking scheme utilized between Playside Tackle and Playside Guard to secure the 3 technique.
Ace- Playside blocking scheme utilized between Playside Guard and Center to secure the 1, 2i, or 2 technique.
Reverse Ace- Blocking scheme utilized between Center and Backside Guard to secure the 0, backside 1, or backside 2i technique.
Load- Blocking scheme which puts the Playside A on the Mike to Free Safety from the outside-in.
Arc- Blocking scheme for the Playside A to block the run support.
Cutoff- Backside Receiver’s across-field technique where he prevents the Backside Corner from crossing to the Playside.
Pull- Wide scoop block through the point of attack.
Slide- Offensive Line shuffles and secures the adjacent gap in pass protection.
Blast- Playside Receiver’s down block on Defensive Lineman to Linebacker when aligned in Double Flex.
Triple Option Football Academy Owner, Dr. Lou Cella, is a Sports Performance Specialist, and a 20-year coaching veteran of the college and high school level.
Over the last five years, Dr. Cella assisted in the turnaround of numerous high school football programs through his triple option-based camp system. Just months after Dr. Cella served as camp director, Cashmere (WA) and Timmonsville (SC) went to the state semifinals, Bayfield (CO) went to the state championship game, and Falls City (TX) won their first regional and first state championship in school history.
In addition, Hereford (MD), Johnson (NJ), Lakewood (SC), Petaluma (CA), Piedra Vista (NM), Poland (ME), Riverwood (GA), San Benito (CA), Seminole County (GA), and Temple City (CA) posted drastic turnarounds just months after Dr. Cella served as their camp director.
Dr. Cella possesses four degrees with an A.S. in Education, a B.S. in English, a M.Ed in Information Technology, and a Psy.D in Psychology, Sport Performance Psychology. Both the American Football Sports Science-Mental Conditioning Academy and the Triple Option Football Academy are governed by AFSSMCA, LLC. At the heart of the American Football Sports Science-Mental Conditioning Academy (AFSSMCA) and the Triple Option Football Academy is the mission to lead the high-performance football environment through sports science and mental conditioning coaching practices.
