Paul Johnson’s Authentic Run-and-Shoot Passing Game

Paul Johnson’s Authentic Run-and-Shoot Passing Game

In this eight-minute podcast episode, Dr. Cella discusses Georgia Tech Head Football Coach Paul Johnson’s and his actual Run-and-Shoot passing game.  Paul has been running the Run-and-Shoot with the Triple Option since the 1980s.  He started adding 360/370 (inside hot), 560/570 (outside hot) and 460/470 (double hot) to his package when he was the Offensive Coordinator at Hawaii.  Dr. Cella explains how Coach Johnson’s base Run-and-Shoot concepts work and provides you with the authentic teaching progressions that Coach Johnson has utilized in the past.  The diagrams off which Dr. Cella teaches each concept can be found at the bottom of this post.
