The following is how to teach footwork for Quarterbacks on Triple Option, Triple Pass, Zone Option, and Toss (Rocket and B-Back):

Triple Option= Take the snap, JUMP in A-gap, point the ball, give to B unless #1 cancels the B… if so, re-seat the ball, step with PLAYSIDE FOOT, REPLACE #1 and score unless #2 steps at Q… if so, parallel pitch.Triple Option versus 50 Defense. PR- Deep Defender PA- 3 PT- Veer PG- Base to Ace C- Veer to Ace BG/BT- Scoop BA- Pitch BR- Cutoff Q- Veer 1 Pitch 2 B- Veer Path
Triple Pass
To throwing hand side=Take the snap, JUMP in A-gap with ball seated, OPEN, CROSSOVER, STEP, CROSSOVER, STEP and throw right now.
On opposite throwing hand side=Take the snap, JUMP in A-gap with ball seated, PIVOT, CROSSOVER, STEP, CROSSOVER, STEP and throw right now.Triple Pass versus 4-3 Cloud. Zone Option= Take the snap, OPEN at 90 degrees, RUN past Playside Tackle, TURN UP and score unless #2 step at you… if so, parallel pitch.Zone Option versus Triple Stack Defense. The Playside A-Back blocks #2 when #3 is on the Line of Scrimmage. Also, the B-Back has Mike to Free Safety, and often versus a Triple Stack, he will end up on the Free Safety as the Free Safety has a better angle than the Mike to make the tackle on Zone Option.
Toss= Take the snap, seat the ball, six inch punch STEP with playside foot, TURN at 135 degrees with backside foot, PIVOT with playside foot and pitch ball now.B-Back Toss v. 4-3
