1. The Triple Option is an OFFENSE not a play. You run it, and if you get 4+ yards running it, come back and run it next play to the same side.
2. Once you do not get 4+ yards on Triple Option with a give to the B-Back, come back the next play and run either Toss or Zone Option. This is because the defense is trying to box you inside, and so you go outside with the ball. Navy recommends this as the answer to when the defense forces a give read.
3. Once you do not get 4+ yards on Triple Option with a pull (Quarterback keep or pitch), come back the next play and run Triple Pass. This is because when the defense puts #1 on the B-Back, the secondary has to come up and support the run on the Quarterback/Pitch.
