If you win the per-play yardage battle by even 0.1 yards per play, your odds of winning a game rise from 50% to 55%.

If you average 0.75 yards per play more than your opponent, you win three-quarters of the time. (How much is 0.75 yards per play? At the national average of 73.9 plays per game, that’s basically 55 yards.)
