Is THIS the Future of the Triple Option?

Watch this from Lenoir-Rhyne and Army today…

Look for the Playside A-back and the Playside Tackle to switch assignments on the Triple Option.

You’ll notice that the Playside Tackle blocks #3 and the Playside A-Back veers to block the linebacker.

If pre-snap #3 is outside the Middle of the Field, be prepared for the following:

Tiger Call v. 4-3/6-1. Playside A-Back veers to the Mike and the Playside Tackle arcs to #3. Against a middle of the field #3, there is no need to "Tiger" call because the "Tiger" call is natural versus a scraping Mike.
