The Sports Science of Triple Option Football: Quarterback Play

There are certain psychomotor movements and biomechanics each Triple Option Quarterback must master to serve his football team.

The specific movements are all taught at Dr. Cella’s 2014 Triple Option Football Academy Camps.

Here are the Quarterback’s following movements:

1- Triple Steps- The Quarterback’s progression on Triple Option.

2- Midline Steps- The Quarterback’s progression on Zoom (Triple) and Lead (Double).

3- Follow Steps- The Quarterback’s progression on Follow.

4- Triple Pass Steps- The Quarterback’s progression on Triple Pass.

5- Counter Steps- The Quarterback’s progression on Counter Option.

6- Zone Steps- The Quarterback’s progression on Zone Option.

7- Toss Steps- The Quarterback’s progression on Rocket Toss.

8- Vert Steps- The Quarterback’s drop-back pass progression.

9- Sprint Steps- The Quarterback’s progression when he sprints out and throws the football.

Work on these nine psychomotor movements now and perfect the movement from point A to point B.

Then, work with the Quarterback on Perfect Ball Security.
