The “Perfect Ball Security Program” consists of continual reinforcement by the Triple Option coaching staff emphacizing the following:
- Discussion of general principles of perfect ball security (fingertips, forearms, biceps, sternum).
- Working out weekly ball security goals.
- Planning practice utilizing mindfulness with the football.
- Learning how to visualize perfect ball security.
Mindful ball security meditation is paramount. Triple Option Football Academy Owner and Sports Performance Specialist, Dr. Lou Cella recommends the following for advanced sports performance:
- Focusing on awareness of the sight and texture of the ball-carrying experience to maximize movement with the perfectly-secured football.
- A series of guided mindfulness meditations to foster focus awareness on receiving the ball and applying pressure through our fingertips, forearms, biceps, and sternum. For example, B-Backs explore and meditate on their experience before and after a run on Triple Option.
These activities are designed to achieve perfect ball security in 2014 and dominate the infamous “Turnover Battle” in football.
