Heavy Zoom (Midline Triple) Versus the Bear Defense

Heavy Zoom (Midline Triple) Versus the Bear Defense

When Triple Option is called and a 3-technique appears to the call side, the concept moves in one hole and defaults to ZOOM (Midline Triple).

If the defense aligns with a 0-technique and a single-high safety, Heavy is a great formation for which to align to create the extra gap against with the two-gap player.

Here is how ZOOM is executed:

Playside Receiver- Near Deep Defender

Playside A- #3

Playside Tackle and Guard- Veer

Center and Backside Guard- Ace

Backside Tackle- Scoop

Backside A- Pitch

Backside Receiver- Cutoff

Quarterback- Mid #1, Pitch #2

B- Mid Path–Bend Off Action Key
