“I couldn’t ask for a better group of five kids to do what we’re trying to do. They are all very intelligent. They understand that without an offensive line, your football team can’t move. They take pride in their blocking … 1,000-yard rushers year after year.” –Bayfield Head Coach, Marshall Hahn
The Bayfield HS Offensive Line in 2011
“Without a doubt, he’s the leader. He’s a great football player. He could play anywhere on our team. He could be a tailback or a tight end, but he’s our center.” – Senior Center and Captain, Austin Riley (6-1, 180 pounds)
The four other Offensive Linemen: Junior Left Guard, Jon Roberts (6-2, 170); Junior Left Tackle Kevin Donahue (6-1, 195); Junior Right Guard, Nate Goddard (6-1, 175); and Junior Right Tackle, Austin McMenimen (6-1, 180)
In 2011, after running a camp with Dr. Lou Cella as Camp Director, Bayfield HS (CO) had an undefeated regular season for the first time since 1996 and advanced to the state championship game in Colorado.
“We were looking to take that next step, and felt that a camp might be just what the doctor ordered. We were not disappointed. We were already committed to the triple option, but the camp brought a much higher level of focus and understanding to our team, both players and coaches. Now when we tell our kids to ‘trust the system’ they know what we’re talking about.”
