Zoom (Midline Triple) is run when Triple is called and a 3-technique aligns to the call side.
This moves the Triple Option in one hole so that the 3-technique and the next down lineman can be read by the Quarterback instead of blocked.
The Offensive Line has much better blocking angles when this is the case.
Zoom blocking rules are the following:
PT/PG- Veer
C/BG- Ace
BT- Scoop
The following is Zoom (Midline Triple) executed versus the three most common situations they face.
Zoom gives the Offensive Line the best blocking angles than any other concept in the Triple Option Offense.
