Getting Your Triple Option Offensive Philosophy Across to Parents and Administrators: Triple Option Football Academy Social Dynamics

When asked about your Triple Option Offensive Philosophy and why you choose to lead the Triple Option-based program instead of running another in vogue or trendy offense, the following is how you would best respond:

Part One

The purpose of sport is to provide experiences that teach lessons that transfer into life-enhancing skills and qualities such as character, courage, desire, dedication, commitment, perseverance, selfless service, teamwork, and self-discipline.

The Under-Center Triple Option Offense is utilized by the United States Military Academy at West Point, and the United States Naval Academy, which are the two greatest institutions in America for teaching these skills.

You son is participating in a football program designed to develop men of character and build teams of significance.

Part Two

Let’s look at the definition of an athlete of character, which is a team player who combines mental toughness, perseverance, and athletic skill with exemplary sportsmanship, fair play, and integrity.

An athlete of character has a teachable spirit and demonstrates the drive, determination, and courage to stay invested and succeed regardless of the challenge.

Through the Under-Center Triple Option Offense, utilized by both the United States Military Academy at West Point and the United States Military Academy, an athlete of character learns how to honorably compete.

Part Three

Now, let’s look at the definition of a team of significance, which is comprised of a group of athletes who bond together into a single, selfless unit and accomplish memorable feats through their commitment to excellence.

This is further mentioned by current United States Military Academy at West Point Head Football Coach, Jeff Monken, who indicated in his initial press conference, “The better players don’t win–the better TEAM wins.”

There are six essential components for a team of significance: Character, courage, competency, commitment, communication, and cohesion.

Part Four

There is great importance that all of our players understand the definition of success, which is the peace of mind that one has when he had done everything possible to become the best he can be.

There is NO mention in our definition that an athlete has to earn all-state honors or a team has to win on the scoreboard in order to be considered successful.

Players can be successful without being in the starting lineup.

The Under-Center Triple Option Offense is preparing young people for success in today’s world, and this is what we do here at our high school football program.
