  • Assign the Receiver to the defender who drops into the zone over the top.
  • Assign the Playside A-Back to Arc the alley unless #3 is in the middle of the field.
  • Assign the Playside Tackle to veer out and veer in if he gets an Ace call.
  • Assign the Playside  Guard to block the Mike unless there is a 1, 2i, or 2–he aces this player.
  • Assign the Center to the Action Key.
  • Action the Backside Guard to run through the Center.
  • Assign the Backside Tackle to Scoop the B-gap.
  • Assign the Backside A-Back to run five yards behind the Quarterback and turn up at 60 degrees.
  • Assign the Backside Receiver to run through the Goalpost.
  • Assign the Quarterback to give the ball to the B-Back unless the defender covering the tackle can tackle the B (#1).  If so, replace #1, score, and pitch the ball across your chest if #2 steps at you.
  • Assign the B-Back to run through the Guard, get vertical and bend inside if the 0-technique slants in front.

This is the best way to run Triple Option.

In addition, Hereford (MD), Johnson (NJ), Lakewood (SC), Petaluma (CA), Piedra Vista (NM), Poland (ME), Riverwood (GA), San Benito (CA), Seminole County (GA), and Temple City (CA)posted drastic turnarounds just months after Dr. Cella served as their camp director.

Dr. Cella is currently conducting empirical research entitled “Utilizing the 80-20 Rule to Improve Football Coaching Performance.” He possesses four degrees with an A.S. in Education, a B.S. in English, a M.Ed in Information Technology, and a Psy.D in Psychology, Sport Performance Psychology (2014).
