Drilling the Offensive Tackles on the Triple Option

Drilling the Offensive Tackles on the Triple Option

The Playside Tackle (Veer) and the Backside Tackle (Scoop) work their techniques on Triple Option versus the most common situations.

The Backside Tackle Opens-Runs past the threat in his gap-vertically crashes. If there is no threat in his gap, he opens, runs, touches the adjacent offensive lineman and vertically turns. The Playside Tackle takes a six inch zone step, grabs grass with his opposite hand and pounds his arches through the 2nd to the 3rd level. The Playside Tackle veers out unless he gets an Ace call. When he gets an Ace call, the Playside Tackle veers to the Mike.
