Triple Option Offensive Line Blocking versus the 4-3 Defense

If the Mike is within five yards of the line of scrimmage, double the Action Key and the Playside Tackle veers inside.
If the Mike is deeper than five yards from the line of scrimmage, the Center will base/reach the shade, the Guard will block Mike to Free Safety, and the Playside Tackle will outside release and block Mike to Free Safety.
Keep in perspective–if the Mike is deeper than five yards, the defense is trying to get him over the top of the Tackle and onto the pitch, so you’re to have a pull read anyway. Why else would they have the Mike deeper than five yards?

In 2015, Kevin White (Wide Receiver) was drafted #7 overall by the Chicago Bears and Mark Glowinski (Offensive Guard) was drafted in the fourth round by the Seattle Seahawks. In 2014, Lorenzo Taliaferro (Running Back) was drafted in the fourth round by the Baltimore Ravens. All three players were coached by Dr. Cella at the Junior College Level.
