The below-listed diagram defines the key defensive positions for the Triple Option:

Defining Key Defensive Positions for the Triple Option.  1= Read Key for the Quarterback 2= Pitch Key for the Quarterback 3= Run Support. Most Dangerous Player Deep Defender= Defender who covers the zone over the top of the Playside Receiver.  He is not part of the count. Action Key= First down lineman inside of 1.
