The Spread Formation is where the offense is based.
Spread Formation Alignments
Offensive Line- 3-plus foot splits–inside hand on heels of Center. Center in four-point stance.
A-backs- one yard behind Offensive Tackle; inside foot on outside foot of Offensive Tackle.
Receivers- 12 yards from Offensive Tackle. If ball is on hash, eight yards from Offensive Tackle.
B-Back behind Quarterback. Depth is determined how fast he can get into the point when the Quarterback points the ball on Triple/Midline.
Quarterback- behind center with balanced feet.
Over makes the single-high safety declare the defense’s intentions.
Over Formation. This is the formation utilized versus one-high safety defenses to force the defense to declare themselves.
Trips creates a 3X1 alignment to take advantage of vertical coverage voids.
Trips Formation. This is the formation primarily utilized to throw the football.
Heavy creates the extra gap in Short Yardage/Goal-line situations.
