Backside A-Back’s Footwork on Triple and Midline Triple Option

Triple Option Football Academy

The following is the process for the Backside A-Back on Triple Option and Midline Triple Option.

1- Hammer Step (wide 90 degree dropstep)

2- Drive (off backside foot)

3- Run five yards behind the QUARTERBACK

4- Take three lateral steps

5- Turn upward at 45 degrees

6- Catch pitch with palms facing the Quarterback

7- Put playside fingertips on nose of ball

8- Hit the seam and score

Midline Triple Option versus 50 Cover 2. PR- Deep Defender PA- Twirl 3 PT- Veer PG- Veer to Scoop (vs. 0/1) C/BG- Ace (A-Gap) BT- Scoop BA- Pitch BR- Cutoff Q- Mid 1, Pitch 2 B- Mid PathMidline Triple Option versus 50 Cover 2.
PR- Deep Defender
PA- Twirl 3
PT- Veer
PG- Veer to Scoop (vs. 0/1)
C/BG- Ace (A-Gap)
BT- Scoop
BA- Pitch
BR- Cutoff
