Running Zone Option out of Double Flex

The Zone Option is utilized when the offense runs Triple and does not get four yards on a give read.  When this happens, the offense must manufacture the ball to the perimeter.

Here, the Playside Receiver outflanks #1 and blocks the point while the Playside Tackle folds around and blocks the Playside Linebacker.

The Playside A and the B-Back have the secondary while the Offensive Line slides through the playside.

The Quarterback and Backside A are 2-on-1 versus #2 (9-technique).

This is Double Flex, Triple Option versus the 50 defense.

Double Flex, Zone Option is run the offense cannot gain four yards on a give read.  Now, the offense gets the ball on the perimeter by outflanking #1 with the Playside Receiver.  The Offensive Line slides to the call while the Playside A kicks the corner.  The B-Back runs his zone path and blocks the Playside Safety while the Playside A blocks the Corner.  The Playside Receiver has the key block where he steps at a 45 degree angle and runs his forearm through the chest of #1.
