Pairing Midline Lead “Tiger” and Rocket

Triple Option Football Academy

Midline Lead and Rocket have the same motion by the Backside A-Back.

When running Midline Lead with a “Tiger” call, the 5-technique has to run with the Playside Tackle who is blocking the alley defender

If the 5 does not run with the Playside Tackle, come back the next play and run Rocket.  Since the 5 does not run with the Tackle, the defense is outnumbered on the perimeter.

Here’s how this would look:

Play 1- Midline Lead with “Tiger” Call.

Midline Lead with Tiger Call. The Playside A back folds inside to wall off anyone who attempts to "fold" inside on the Quarterback. This could be the 5-technique (if he doesn't run with the Tackle), the Sam Linebacker, or even the Safety. The Tackle opens, runs into the alley, and blocks whoever shows in the alley.Midline Lead with Tiger Call. Play 2- Rocket
