Flexbone Offense Pass Plays
When the secondary flies up to stop the triple option, it’s time to throw over their heads with the Playaction Pass.
If the defense does not align with a playside safety, the default is to send both receivers down the field. As this occurs, the playside A-Back runs a wheel to pull the corner out. This fast breaks the free safety who is in the middle of the field.
If the defense aligns with a playside safety, the quarterback says “Titan Titan Titan.” This converts the playside Receiver’s route to a corner route, the playside A’s route to a wheel stop, and the Backside Receiver’s route to a post. So, the corner Route is thrown unless the cornerback gets over the top of that route. If that is the case, the quarterback throws the wheel stop.
Utilize this when the secondary flies up to stop Triple Option in 2019 and beyond.
