Pamlico County (NC) improved from 2-8 to the 2018 Class 1A State Championship Game. Odessa-Harrington (WA) reached the 8-Man State Championship in 2016 after going 12-0.
Wyman King (SC) went to the state championship game in 2022 with a roster of 14 players. Timmonsville (SC) went from 1-9 to the state semifinals in 2011 with a roster of 21 players. Bayfield (CO) went to the state championship game with a 180-pound offensive line.
Rainier (WA) achieved its best season in 26 years in 2017. BCC (MD) made its first Maryland Class 4A State Quarterfinals appearance in 2023 after a 30-year drought. Tussey Mountain (PA) improved from 2-28 in 2015-2017 to 26-6 from 2018-2020.
In 2022, Hollis (OK) improved from 2-6 to 8 wins and a playoff run. Piedra Vista (NM) went from 3 wins in 2011 to 9 wins and the state quarters in 2012. Shadow Ridge (NV) led Class 4A in rushing after a 2016 camp with Dr. Cella.
