Unification—Oversimplification—Conviction are the Gifts of the Flexbone Offense

Everything ties into each other. This allows you to have a stronger mission and stronger conviction. When your playcalling, matches your installation methods, and your practice methodology— you are establishing an elite performance environment.
By utilizing, if/then play calling methodology, you make playcalling a concrete system instead of abstract art form. Then you simply install as you play call in the same sequence. That you practice one concept at a time in the same sequence utilizing Paul Johnson’s live bullets drill.
Clients report that their radical oversimplification of office of football leads to unparalleled success. Haverford High Head Coach, Luke Dougherty said to me today: “Sustainability is the key. I will pound the pavement and scream the message:

1:30 practices
Just running plays
5 smooth stones

I swear I say it to (my assistants) Kevin and Ryan every day in season. That’s how we won 11 games.”
When you know you have to make zone dive work,—AND your triple teaming the defensive tackle to do this. If you can’t win a 3-in-1 with the ball carrier running immediately behind the 3, you know you DESERVE to lose. Even if that happens not to work, you have midline triple option, which cancels the play side, defensive line with the football, and they have a 0% chance of making the tackle. So if this doesn’t work either, you really really deserve to lose!
Plan A is your zone dive.
Plan B is your midline triple option. You utilize this when the C gap player takes the dive on zone dive and you still don’t get 4 yards.
With the blitz, you toss the ball so far outside the defensive line that they can’t make the play. This is Plan C.
Will you run an offense that does not conform to the pattern of this world, you are going to become convicted. Your goal is to WIN and not fit in!
Humility starts when you accept the fact that you need to cancel the defensive line — and get the ball past the defensive line as fast as possible— so you can get yards—and make your offense functional.
Josh Kaufman’s 20-hour rule proved that if you practice the game 25 times, you will be at 95% of your potential at that point. 100% of your potential gets achieved with 10,000 hours of deliberate practice. This was proved by Malcolm Gladwell in many of his books. 95% is far more achievable.
