Navy and Georgia Tech’s Load Scheme for the Triple Option

In this four-minute podcast Dr. Cella describes Navy and Georgia Tech’s Load Scheme on the Triple Option.  The Load Scheme is utilized when the Run Support (#3) is in the middle of the field.  Dr. Cella describes the process of the Playside Receiver, Playside A-Back, and Playside Tackle when #3 is in the middle of the field.  When #3 is in the middle of the field, the Load Scheme is automatically executed to cancel the Mike Linebacker and Free Safety (#3) on Triple Option.

The podcast can be heard right here.

Load Scheme. If #1 comes upfield, the Playside A goes right to the Free Safety.Load scheme. When #1 cancels B-Back, Playside A cancels Mike Linebacker.Load situations on Triple with Playside Tackle and A-Back. If the Mike runs over the top, the Playside A blocks the Mike and the Tackle blocks #3. This all happens via agile learning.
