The Rocket Toss is utilized when the defense blitzes their inside linebackers.
This allows the offense to toss the ball outside where nobody can scrape over the top.
Here is how the drill is run…
On the Rocket Toss, the Playside Receiver blocks the Near Deep Defender, the Playside A-back ARCS to #3, the Backside A-back has the Rocket Path, the Backside Receiver cuts off, the Quarterback has his Rocket Steps, and the B-back has his Zone Away Path.
The Rocket Toss must be appropriately utilized to maximized effectiveness. Only run the Rocket Toss to beat the blitz.
