Navy’s Offensive Coordinator, Ivin Jasper on how many plays he has in a triple-option offensive playbook.
“If things are going right, you’re probably going to run about six plays — if you’re doing it right and you’re pretty good upfront, pretty good all around. We have a lot of plays, but you have your base plays, which you always want to make sure that you go to every single game and run those plays. We have about six plays that are base offense that we would like to go into every single game and run. At the same time, we have a pretty big playbook. We want to be able to run our base plays and be effective at those and all those that come off that, whether it’s play-action or a little detail play that we have that we’ll add to something. Other than that, six plays. This is my favorite saying from my favorite movie, Remember the Titans: ‘It’s like novocaine, give it time and it works.’”
