Zoom (Midline Triple) versus the Bear Defense

Zoom (Midline Triple) versus the Bear Defense

Double Eagle defenses such as the Bear are common at the high school level.

When Triple Option is called and a 3-technique aligns to the call side, the Triple Option moves in one hole (Zoom).

The rules on the default to Zoom (Midline Triple) are the following:

Playside Receiver- Near Deep Defender

Playside A- Twirl, #3

Playside Tackle- Veer In

Playside Guard- Veer In

Center/Backside Guard- Ace

Backside Tackle- Scoop

Backside A- Pitch

Backside Receiver- Cutoff

Quarterback- Mid #1, Pitch #2

B- Mid Path, Bend off action key
